Bence Kiricza (2002, Budapest) is a contemporary dancer and emerging choreographer. He describes himself as a “sensitive and crazy human”, considering these qualities essential to who he is and how he approaches dance. He translates them into his movement language, seeing dance as a constant exploration of the unknown and an expansion of his physical and emotional boundaries. This process awakens further curiosity, inspiring him to dig deeper and bringing him great joy. Through this exploration, he continues to develop the qualities he considers his strengths as a dancer: dynamics, speed, softness, fluidity, groove and musicality. His artistic interests lie primarily in collaboration, physicality, spirituality and risk-taking, as well as in exploring and revealing the different possibilities of movement through a wide range of qualities.
His dance journey began in 2013 with hip-hop, which laid the foundation for his connection to movement and dance. In 2025, he graduated from the Hungarian Dance University with a bachelor's degree in Modern and Contemporary Dance. His experience spans both repertory and creative processes, supported by international training and performance experience. During his university years (2022–2025), he gained experience in various professional environments, including an internship with Company Fren_Ák, short-term creative collaborations with Máté Mészáros and Endre Schumicky, and an internship at PerformAct in Portugal. During this period, he also created the solo choreography Crazy Little Things (2024).
In his final year, he presented two works as part of his graduation performances: Behind Every Decision (2025) by Yaniv Avraham, an original creation, and Mirror (2020) by Eva Duda Dance Company, a repertory piece. Following graduation, he was accepted into the international PerformAct training programme in Portugal, where he completed his studies in 2026. There, he worked with artists including Rob Hayden, Tijen Lawton, Máté Mészáros, Bénédicte Mottart, Cruz Isael Mata, Chloé Bellvaire, Cola Ho, Julio Iglesias, José Agudo and Celine Werkhoven. His performance credits include Chimera (2026) by Rob Hayden, Um Mar de Corujas Amadas (2026) by João Cardoso and 818, co-created with Junis Becherer.
Alongside his career as a performer, Bence has also developed his choreographic practice. In 2024, he made his choreographic debut with his first group creation, Dilihouse, presented as part of a collaborative evening between the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and the Hungarian Dance University at Trafó House of Contemporary Arts. He subsequently presented his second group choreography, Nemesis (2025), at the National Dance Theatre in Budapest. In 2025, while in Portugal, he worked on a personal solo piece, Love, Anya – Apa, followed by another choreographic work, Wild Winds (2026).
