Since 1993 co-productions connect En–Knap with various institutions in the international contemporary dance field to reach wider audiences and develop within a broader European context. Since 2009 En–Knap also supports other organisations and independent artists through rehearsal space, technical infrastructure, residencies, production expertise and promotional integration. Guest performances bring leading and emerging European artists to Španski Borci, situating local creation within a wider international field of exchange. Residencies provide artists with time, space and working conditions for research and development, supporting through studio access, accommodation, public presentations and knowledge exchange.
Collaborations
Co-productions. Stronger together.
Since its beginning, En–Knap's international activity regularly engages in co-productions. More than 130 renowned dance institutions, festivals and organisations from around the world have invested their interest, expertise, resources and trust in collaborations with EN-KNAP. This allows us to create works that go beyond the capacities of a single organisation. By actively participating in regional networks, by managing the facilities of Španski Borci and by organising regular open calls, En–Knap continuously supports selected artists and organisations to realise their dance projects by offering facilities, technical infrastructure, organisational support and communication channels.
Guest performances. The world on the local stage.
Through a year-round programme at Španski Borci and the recently launched NaKnap Festival, En–Knap brings bold, exciting and must-see voices of contemporary dance in different media from around the world to local audiences. Since 2009, En–Knap has hosted more than 150 invited guest performances, by names including Rosas, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Steve Paxton, DV8 and Wim Vandekeybus, among others.

The residency programme is currently based at Španski Borci, where existing facilities are made available for artistic research, particularly during the summer months. In 2027, activities are planned to expand into the new Telo Moste (Dance Residency Centre), comprising three additional studios and residential apartments, creating additional capacities for artistic research.
