Weavers unfolds as a sequence of four interconnected performance situations: Spring Water, Pavers, Two Gatherers and Weavers. Each part establishes its own world, rhythm and logic, while contributing to a broader reflection on memory, accumulation and human relationships.

The journey begins with Spring Water, a prologue that introduces a landscape of movement and transformation. In Pavers, attention shifts to the slow layering of time, tracing the endless displacement and accumulation of sediment. Two Gatherers explores attachment—to people, objects and possessions—and the ways in which these bonds shape our lives. The final chapter, Weavers, brings the threads together through the collective act of weaving a carpet, transforming the traces of the performance into a tangible document of its own making.

Rather than following a linear narrative, the work unfolds through a series of distinct encounters. Equally important are the transitions between them: the pauses, gaps and moments of suspension where one world dissolves and another begins. These intervals become performative spaces in their own right, inviting the audience to experience presence, absence and transformation as part of the same unfolding whole.

bio

Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik is a Slovenian choreographer, dancer, educator and video artist. One of the key figures of contemporary dance in Slovenia, she creates performance, research and educational projects that explore movement as both a mode of behaviour and a spatial-visual practice. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the London Contemporary Dance School (1999) and has collaborated with numerous artists across dance, theatre, music and visual arts. In 2009, she co-founded the collective Federacija, whose interdisciplinary projects engage diverse communities and social groups. Her work has received numerous awards, including the Dance Europe Critics' Choice Award (2003), the Povodni mož Award (2004), the Gibanica Jury Award (2007), the Ksenija Hribar Award (2015, 2021) and the Župančič Award (2021).
