Mala Kline is a performer, choreographer and writer. Her artistic and theoretical work is embedded in the practice of dreaming. Her extensive body of work is based on Saphire® dream techniques, which she uses to open up original spaces of feeling and to generate images characterised by semantic fluidity, contradictoriness and atmospheric intensity. With her original works, she creates unique worlds woven through the language of our dreaming. She has received a number of major Slovenian awards for her choreographic works, including the Golden Bird (2005), Povodni mož (2005, 2013), the Gibanica Award (2013, 2023), and the Ksenija Hribar Awards for Choreography (2013) and for Theory (2021). She is the author of two books, Capfico: Writings from the Belly of the Whale published by Capfico/Madrid and Theatres of Potentiality: between Ethics and Politics published by Maska/Ljubljana. In 2018, she founded ELIAS 2069 - a school, artist residency, organic farm and outdoor spa located in an unspoilt natural resort deep in the wilderness of southern Slovenia, dedicated to education and creation through the use of dreaming techniques.
