Thomas Bos is a Dutch director, dancer and artist who graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2013. He works primarily in film and video, while also being a core member of the dance collective 155 (eenvijfvijf), which he co-leads with his brother Erik Bos.
In Fist (2022), dance becomes a tool of introspective inquiry – a space where anger transforms into a physical expression that both entertains and challenges the viewer. The film incisively raises questions and exposes the complexities of contemporary times, while foregrounding the dilemma of whether – and how – anger and violence can be redirected into something positive. The director approaches this tense and layered thematic terrain with subtle irony and a keen sense of the absurd, leaving a strong impression despite the film’s brevity.
