Catarina Casqueiro and Tiago Coelho take us inside Portugal’s contemporary dance scene, connecting the national context directly to their own artistic practice. Drawing on experiences at festivals and premieres such as Deux Same (2021, Quinzena de Dança de Almada) and Matiik (2022), as well as collaborations with leading Portuguese dance collectives, they explore the creative, institutional, and social dimensions of dance in Portugal.
This talk will highlight current trends, artistic practices, and production strategies, giving participants insight into how contemporary dance evolves in Portugal’s cultural and professional landscape.
