Open call for Aerowaves Podcast Academy 2027

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Our partners at Aerowaves are inviting applications for Podcast Academy 2027, a mentoring programme for beginners interested in exploring contemporary dance and emerging artists’ work through sound, conversation and storytelling.

Aerowaves podcast academy

The programme will select three participants based in Europe who are proficient in spoken English and have not taken part in previous Aerowaves capacity-building programmes. No podcasting experience is required — just curiosity, an interest in dance and an enjoyment of one-to-one conversations.

Participants will be mentored by Dany Mitzman, editor, producer and presenter of Spring Forecast, whose broadcast journalism career includes more than 25 years of work for the BBC and Deutsche Welle Radio. The programme covers the full podcast-making process, from planning and interviewing to recording, editing, shaping a narrative and publication.

Online sessions will take place between February and April 2027, followed by practical work at Spring Forward in Limerick, Ireland, from 13 to 17 April. After the festival, participants will develop their episodes with continued mentoring support and publish them as part of Spring Forecast at the end of September.

Selected participants will receive travel costs, accommodation, hospitality and a festival pass. They will need to buy or borrow their own recording equipment and attend all online sessions and the full programme in Limerick.

To apply, prepare one biographical paragraph and an MP3 recording of no more than one minute explaining why you would like to participate. Creative approaches to the audio application are welcome.

The application deadline is 5 November 2026 at midnight (CET). Successful applicants will be notified by email by early December.
