Delegate registration is now open for the first Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Showcase

We are pleased to announce that delegate registration is officially open for the first Moving Balkans Contemporary Dance Showcase. The inaugural edition of this unique event will bring together innovative artists, choreographers and contemporary dance enthusiasts from across the region. Join us in celebrating the diversity of contemporary dance in the Balkans!

Secure your place! Delegates will have a unique opportunity to connect with dance professionals, discover outstanding performances and gain insight into contemporary dance practices across the region. Due to limited capacity, we can accommodate only one representative per organisation. Please bear this in mind when planning your attendance.

Why attend?

The Moving Balkans Showcase presents a carefully curated programme of 10 diverse performances, ranging from intimate to spectacular, alongside Dance Scape pitches by six artists, offering insight into the rich and dynamic contemporary dance scene of the Balkans.

Taking place across three cities—Ljubljana, Rijeka and Zagreb—the Showcase offers opportunities to network with local professionals and explore potential collaborations and partnerships with artists and organisations from the region.

  • Registration fee: €55
  • Registration includes: performance tickets, access to special hotel rates, transport between the three cities, evening refreshments and parties each day.

If you are considering extending your visit, you can also attend Gibanica, the 12th Biennial of Slovenian Contemporary Dance (6–10 May, Ljubljana), or the Croatian festivals Port of Dance (14–17 May, Rijeka) and Zagreb Dance Week (14–17 May, Zagreb). These events take place immediately before and after the Showcase.

About Moving Balkans

Established in early 2024 and co-funded by the European Union, the Moving Balkans platform aims to increase the visibility and competitiveness of contemporary dance from the Balkans on the global stage.

The platform brings together leading dance organisations from across the Balkans. Through festivals, workshops and touring performances, Moving Balkans seeks to encourage innovation, create opportunities for artistic exchange and build a vibrant contemporary dance network in the region.
