Tina Habun (1992, Slovenia) was introduced to dance through modern and jazz dance techniques and participated in dance competitions in Slovenia and abroad. She attended primary ballet school in Kamnik. Driven by her passion for dance and creation, she later turned to contemporary dance. In 2016, she enrolled at the Academy of Dance in Ljubljana, where she began collaborating with established Slovenian artists already during her studies. She began exploring contemporary dance and working within cabaret and theatre contexts in Kamnik, where she collaborated with Anja Bezlova and Goran Završnik. Under their mentorship and as a collaborator, she co-created numerous events and performances, including the series of cabaret performances Katzen Kabaret. Through this work, she developed a particular affinity for the cabaret form, which remains an important part of her artistic expression. As a mentor and teacher, she works with both young people and adults. She began her pedagogical work while still at secondary school, taking on the choreographic mentoring for musicals created by students of Gimnazija in srednja šola Rudolfa Maistra. For more than ten years, she taught recreational and competitive groups at Plesna šola Šinšin. Together with individual dancers and dance groups, she participated in festivals including Živa, Plesna Nacionala and Pika Miga, achieving outstanding results with her dancers at competitions in modern competitive dance. Her choreographic works, including the original dance work Lupina created with En–Knap Group, combine movement, humour, satire and subtle social critique, with a particular interest in theatrical situations that, because of their serious nature, often become comic or absurd. She also collaborates with various artistic collectives, working in cabaret and experimental formats, while remaining active as a mentor and teacher.
