Ana Štefanec Knez began her dance education in Celje, at Plesni Forum Celje, as a young girl initially as a part of training for figure skating. After she continued her learning in Ljubljana at High School for Contemporary dance. On various occasions she was trained by many local and foreign teachers, such as Maja Delak, Mala Kline, Fred Lassere, Frey Faust, Snježana Premuš, Matej Kejžar, Gregor Kamnikar, Rebecca Murgi, Christine Kono and others. She received numerous awards for choreographic and dancing durring her career at home and abroad. From 2007 till 2019 was a part of En–Knap Group as a dancer where she created, co-created and colaborated with more than 50 Slovenian and foreign authors. Since 2020 she is a part of En–Knap Group as a rehearsal director.
