Tickle My Pickle

Lithuania

In a hot-pink bedroom, teenage Emily gives free rein to the unruly world of adolescent fantasy. A jar of pickles, a pounding soundtrack and the arrival of the milkman become the ingredients for a playful exploration of attraction, curiosity and the awkwardness of growing into one’s own sexuality.

With its exaggerated colours, comic sensibility and slightly surreal premise, Tickle My Pickle approaches teenage desire through the lens of fantasy. The bedroom becomes a private stage where everyday objects acquire unexpected meanings and attraction turns into an imaginative game. Cheeky, colourful and deliberately a little strange, Greta Griniūtė’s short film approaches sexuality with humour and a mischievous sense of play.

8 minutes of desire without apologies.

Late Night Movies

The new festival section gathers films that take us somewhere a little less polite: into desire, fantasy, awkwardness, bodies, obsessions and the strange things that happen after dark. These are films that allow dance and moving image to become playful, intimate, absurd or provocative—and that are perhaps best watched when the lights are low and conventional decorum has already gone to bed.
