Motion Pictures is a multimedia performance that joins dance, video projections and music. Life as a movie projected onto the screen and viewed as thousands of images of minute everyday feelings.

I am alone. So are You. We, we are all alone together. The road is long. In front of us, behind us. I’ve accepted that I'm on this road alone. Where does it lead? Nowhere else but to myself. From myself, from you, to myself, to you. Just like stars, the fireflies of the sky. They die into themselves. There is no plan. Only existence. The incidence. The moment. While you desire the future, looking at your past, you forget about your present. To be present, in the present. I could be anything. You could be anything. We could be anything! Together, in a way. Sometimes. But if not, that’s not a problem either. We’ll meet each other in the sky. The boats allow me to fly, and not my thoughts. The Milkyway is our river. Our souls are flying, shining on the horizon. Many tiny lights. The flames of freedom. Aimless, because their sole aim is their existence. Anything else is just a scam, just rules. We might meet each other in our groove. If we need to. If we don’t, that’s not a problem either. It’s enough for me to know that You are. Enough that You know that I am. That we are. Then let us be!

bio

Musician Omar Ismail, former frontman of the band Mi Familia and a member of the provocative Slovenian electro-drum’n’bass-punk band Hex, which has been making its mark on the Slovenian and international music scene with its debut album Elektromonster and numerous live performances. Ismail has also co-created music for various performances, including Šajning and FENG ŠUS v gledališču brez igralca, and works in video production.

Tamás Tuza is a dancer and choreographer with a flair for contemporary dance – and the occasional dad joke. His journey began in 2005 at the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy. In 2010, he joined the En–Knap Group in Ljubljana, where he had dazzled audiences with his gravity-defying moves until 2016. After a brief hiatus (or maybe just a long lunch), he rejoined the group in 2019, and choreographed his full-length dance piece Cogito (2021). Besides dancing, he moonlighted as a movement consultant and choreographer at Slovensko ljudsko gledališče Celje. His passion for teaching has led him to share his wisdom in workshops and dance classes across Slovenia, most notably at the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy. While his moves are sharp, his sense of humor is just as nimble. From Romeo and Juliet (movement consultant) to crafting innovative choreography for secretive artistic projects (the less said, the better), his eclectic work keeps audiences on their toes – literally.
